COVID-19 in Estonia, 28 June 2021: 15 new positive test results have been added within the past 24 hours

The last 24 hours have seen 2,180 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of only fifteen (0.7%) of the initial tests were positive. A full 4,430 vaccine doses were also administered within the past 24 hours. In total, 553,388 individuals have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Estonia, and 422,945 individuals have received both doses. A total of 50.8% of the entire adult population has received at least one vaccine dose.

Based on the data in the population register, the highest number of new positive test results came from Harju County, where twelve further individuals were found to have been infected. A total of eleven of the new cases in Harju County were from Tallinn.

A further three new positive coronavirus test results were added from Ida-Viru County. No new cases were added from any of the remaining counties.

The number of cases for every 100,000 people in the last fourteen days is 33.60, and 1.0% of all initial tests have been found to be positive.

No new COVID-19 cases were opened within the past 24 hours, and thirty-four patients are being treated in hospital

As of the morning of 28 June, hospital treatment is being supplied to thirty-four patients who have COVID-19. Five of those patients require intensive care, with four patients on a ventilator.

In total, 6.9% of all individuals who have tested positive have required hospital treatment. The average age of those patients who are being treated in hospital is 68. All told, twenty-six of those patients who require hospital treatment are over the age of sixty (76.0% of the overall figure).

No new coronavirus deaths were registered within the past 24 hours. Coronavirus has claimed the lives of 1,269 people in Estonia in total.

As of this morning, a total of 553,388 individuals have been vaccinated against COVID-19, of whom 130,443 individuals have received one dose, and 422,945 individuals have received both doses. Of that total, 4,430 vaccine doses were administered over the past 24 hours, and 931,281 vaccine doses have been administered overall.

Vaccination against COVID-19 is now available for anyone who is at least twelve years of age. Time slots for vaccination against COVID-19 can be booked via the eBooking system or by calling the central phone number (1247) between 08:00 and 20:00. New time slots are being added into the system based on the arrival of fresh vaccine deliveries.
